Packers Advance To Super Bowl XLV

The Packers defeated the Bears 21-14 in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon at Solider Field to advance to Super Bowl XLV. Aaron Rodgers went 17-for-30 with 244 yards and two interceptions, but he also rushed for 39 yards and a first-quarter touchdown. Greg Jennings caught eight passes for 130 yards. Jay Cutler had 80 yards and interception before a knee injury forced him out in the third quarter. Todd Collins went 0-for-4 and was nearly intercepted twice before Caleb Hanie was inserted into the game. Hanie was 13-for-20 with 153 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. B.J. Raji returned an interception of Hanie 18 yards for a touchdown and a 21-7 Green Bay lead with 6:04 left in regulation.

Mark Sanchez tossed three touchdown passes as the Jets defeated the Patriots 28-21 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The victory allowed New York to advance to the AFC Title Game. They'll face Pittsburgh next weekend. "Maybe everybody else never believed, but we believed," Rex Ryan said. "We're moving on. Same old Jets, back to the AFC championship. The only difference is this time we plan on winning."

Cutler Leads Bears Over Seahawks

Jay Cutler accounted for four touchdowns as the Bears defeated the Seahawks 35-24 to advance to the NFC Title Game. Seattle scored all 24 of their points in the second half, including 21 in the fourth quarter. Cutler threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more in the victory. It was his first playoff start since high school. Chicago will face Green Bay next weekend. "Now that we have beaten the Seahawks, it just doesn't get any better, as I see it, than for the NFC championship coming down to the Packers coming down on our turf this time," coach Lovie Smith said. "The Packers and Bears to finish it up."

Packers Rout Falcons Thanks To Huge Second Quarter

The Packers advanced to the NFC Title Game on Saturday with a 48-21 victory over the favored Falcons. Atlanta jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, but Green Bay scored 28 points in the second and another 14 points in the third period to seal the win. Aaron Rodgers threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Packers fans in Atlanta could be heard cheering for their team. Green Bay, who entered the playoffs as the No. 6 seed, will have to go on the road (to either Seattle or Chicago) again next week with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

The Steelers stormed back to beat the Ravens in the second half on Saturday afternoon and advance to the AFC Title Game. Pittsburgh outscored Baltimore 24-3 in the second half for a 31-24 victory. The Ravens turned the ball over three times in the third quarter. The Steelers will face the winner of Sunday's Patriots-Jets matchup.

Late INT Gives Packers Win Over Eagles

The Packers defeated the Eagles 21-16 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon to advance in the NFC playoffs. It was the first postseason victory for Aaron Rodgers. "I never felt like there was a monkey on my back," Rodgers said. "I'm just so proud of these guys." Rodgers had to watch from the sideline while Michael Vick nearly led the Eagles to a win, but Tramon Williams intercepted Vick's pass for Riley Cooper in the end zone with 33 seconds left to seal the win.

Jets Defeat Colts On Folk's Game-Winning FG

The Jets defeated the Colts 17-16 on Saturday night thanks to a 32-yard field goal by Nick Folk. Folk made the kick as time expired. Adam Vinatieri had hit what looked like a potential game-winning field goal with 57 seconds left to give Indianapolis a 16-14 lead. Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie returned the kickoff to near midfield and Mark Sanchez completed three passes, with a LaDainian Tomlinson run mixed in, to bring Folk well within field goal range. Tomlinson finished with 16 carries for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Sanchez went 18-for-31 with 189 yards and an interception. Manning, who beat the Jets in the AFC Title Game last January, went 18-for-26 with 225 yards and a touchdown. Pierre Garcon caught five passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. The Jets will travel to New England to face the Patriots next weekend.

Seahawks Upset Champion Saints 41-36

The Seahawks upset the defending-champion Saints 41-36 in Saturday's Wild Card playoff game. Seattle won the NFC West, but finished the season 7-9. New Orleans jumped out to a 17-7 lead, but Seattle stormed back and scored 27 points over the second and third periods. Matt Hasselbeck went 22-for-35 with 272 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Marshawn Lynch had one of his best games as a professional with 19 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown. He iced the win for Seattle with a 67-yard scoring run with less than four minutes remaining to give the Seahawks a 41-30 lead. Drew Brees went 39-for-60 with 404 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Julius Jones rushed 15 times for 59 yards and two scores. He also lost a fumble. Seattle will play in either Atlanta or Chicago next weekend.
